He's a Good Kid

So, I thought Daniel was still asleep earlier.   I went in their room to find him reclined on his MADE bed, where he'd been reading The Hobbit for half an hour!    Now he's mowing.   I like this kid!   :)

A Special Day

Sunday was a very special day in our little family!    In a packed church, in front of family and friends, Grant was baptized by his dad.   We are so proud of our little monkey, who is growing into a sweet young man.   His moments of goofy nervousness added to the celebration - like pretending he was swimming!  But that's ok, because that's how God has wired Grant.   And since accepting Christ, I've seen his love for God's word grow stronger and that thrills me to no end!

Four other children were baptized too, so it was a special day for our whole church!   One of Grant's best buddies followed him in baptism and they couldn't help having some fun before it all started!

God has big plans for both of these boys who have recently given their hearts to Christ.  I look forward to watching how God molds them into Godly young men!

Boy Moms Link Up

Although this blog about raising boys is fairly new, I'm not new to being a boy mom.   I know that one of the things I couldn't survive without is other boy moms.   We need each other's encouragement and advice.  The connection has been invaluable to me the past 12+ years!   So I'm linking up today at Kelly's blog to check out what's going on in the lives of other moms of boys.

Like many boy moms, I never dreamed I would only raise boys.  But God had other plans and I'm so very glad He did.  Now, almost 13 years later, it's hard to imagine having a princess in the house.   I enjoy being the only girl!   I'm crazy about these loving, hilarious, zany, unpredictable, rambunctious little men who are tweens.  It's an exciting time to be their mom!   They're maturing and growing into the young men God wants them to be.  It requires a lot of prayer and patience on our parts as their mom and dad.   But I've learned that if I will keep feeding MY spirit, He will take the overflow from my life to shape theirs.

So, I look forward to reading about other families.   Let's hear it for the boys!

Swords, Light Sabers, and Arrows

Once upon a time, my boys played "Narnia" with their swords,  then they moved onto fighting the Dark Side with their light sabers.   Today, they're in the backyard fighting in The Hungers games with makeshift bows and arrows.  I love being a boy mom!
